At the end of 2025, approximately 8,200 projects representing more than 2,060 GW of generation and storage capacity were actively seeking connection to the U.S. transmission grid.

This included approximately 1,312 GW of generation and 749 GW of storage. Berkeley Lab's dataset covers all seven U.S. ISO/RTO regions and 50 non-ISO utilities representing approximately 98% of installed U.S. generating capacity.

SCHINEX Perspective:
The scale of the interconnection pipeline highlights the infrastructure required between project development and commercial operation. Engineering, utility coordination, equipment procurement, interconnection upgrades, construction, testing, and commissioning remain critical steps in converting proposed capacity into operating assets.
